We actually have a friend who is into urban exploration. He recently completed some sort of secret race, a very weird twist on a scavenger hunt… It takes a unique turn of mind.

I just realized that I now frequently say things quite akin to “some of my best friends are black.” As in:
“We actually have a friend who is into urban exploration.”
Bully for us!

I recently read “Access All Areas – A User’s Guide to the Art of Urban Exploration” by Ninjalicious. It was a good book on urban exploration. Well worth reading if you are interested in the topic. I think the book is presently out of print but you can find used copies pretty easily online. One of the more interesting urban exploration adventures I’ve read about was this one to Chernobyl – http://www.kiddofspeed.com/.

Hey, I used to do this (before my family performed an intervention). Actually have some great images from inside an abandoned 19th-century military fort (Fort Hayes, Columbus), among other things. Tip: If the floor is missing, you can usually pass thru the room safely by hugging the walls. It’s really a lot of fun!
