William The Coroner’s Forensic Files

About William the Coroner

I’m one of a few people in the world that do what I do, I’m an academic forensic pathologist. My main academic page can be found HERE: I’m cursed with too many baked goods and not enough digits, in my copious spare time I like to read, cook, (actually, I like to eat more than I like to cook, but one leads to the other) walk around my neighborhood or in the Emerald Necklace, hang out in bookstores or antique stores, play folk music (badly) play with my cats, and indulge my curiosity.

My grasp of popular culture ends with the sixtes.  The 1660’s.  No, really, once in undergrad it took me two days to remember the band from Liverpool George Harrison used to play with.   Incorrigeable punster, and I never met an old joke I didn’t like.

  1. William, I also appreciate your sincere recollection of my brother. Unfortunately, my wife and I arrived at his parish(St Benignus) in Greenfield last Sunday for his 11 AM Mass and lunch afterwards. Instead as we pulled up, we were met by his congregation standing outside the church with many in tears. Not until we turned the corner and headed to the rectory did we see the ambulance and police cruisers. The county criminal investigation team was already there. It was an awful day to say the least.

Frank mentioned in our phone calls that prior week that he was extremely tired. Since Frank had to prepare for Holy Week and Easter Sunday at both parishes, I didn’t really think much of his comment. He never cared much for sleep. I am surprised to hear that he knew he had a congenital heart lesion. Can you describe that condition to me in layman’s terms? The police chief would only tell me that he died of heart failure and that the toxicology reports would be back in 6-8 weeks. He also told me that foul play was quickly ruled out.
