So I went to the gunsmith today in hopes of picking up my primary duty weapon. The last weapons familiarization class I taught the front sight came off my 1911. I didn’t like not knowing where the bullet was going to go, so I wanted to have it replaced. It’s not done yet, but I was surprised.
The gunsmith rents space in a gun shop/range, and the range was absolutely jammed. Every stall was filled, people were waiting standing on all the available floor space and a few were hanging from the ceiling. Usually, I go to the range on a weekday evening, and it is usually empty. On a cold, rainy, Saturday afternoon, the range was the place to be.
