Blue Angels

Filed under: Life, the universe, & everything. — williamthecoroner @ 17:33

Four to six  Blue Angels have beenb flying around my house for the past couple of days.  No, not the above blue angel, F/A 18 Hornets. The Cleveland Air show is this weekend.  I did get a chance to see a B17G moving under its own power, which is always exciting. It’s the Yankee Girl--unfortunately they’re not giving rides over the weekend.

  1. Go see the Blues, it’s worth the time and you WILL be impressed… 🙂

  2. When I was growing up, there was a small county airfield about two miles away that held an annual airshow each August. For the ten years we lived in that house, we frequently had fighter jet flyovers during practice for that airshow (it was big, despite the smallishness of the airport itself; C130s landed there year-round). Pretty cool, because we got our own “show” while standing in our front yard. Both the Blue Angels and the Thunderbirds performed at these airshows (never at the same time, though). I always preferred the Angels. The planes were cooler. (The fact that they were painted my school colors might have had something to do with that, too.) I wanted to be a pilot for the Blue Angels…until I realized I’d need to join the Navy. Not that I have anything against the Navy, or serving my country, but I’m a wimp of the first order. I decided then to stick with OOO-ing and AHHHH-ing at airshows.
