Who’s with me?

I found this on the Drawn Cutlass, and I thought I’d play along.

1. Pick three US Civil War generals to fight by your side in the Zombie Apocalypse.

2. Same, but WWII generals.

3. Same, but US Presidents.

4. Same, but actors (living or dead)

5. Same, but writers.

6. Same, but rock musicians.

7. Same, but fictional characters.

Ok, who would I pick?

For Civil War generals: Robert E. Lee, Nathan Bedford Forrest, David Dixon Porter (Ok, he was Navy, but he was effective)

WWII generals: George Patton, Matthew Ridgeway, Mark W. Clark

US Presidents: Thomas Jefferson, Andrew Jackson, Theodore Roosevelt.

Actors: Humphrey Bogart, James Stewart.

Writers: Rudyard Kipling, Robert B. Parker, Ernest Hemingway.

Rock Musicians: I have no clue.

Fictional characters: Spenser, Cheradenine Zakalwe, Lazarus Long.

  1. You are short one actor. Might I suggest a short cowboy actor: Audie Murphy.

Yes, he was a soldier, but his acting career lasted longer.

John Buchan would be a good choice for the writers category.

  3. I gave this one a kick over at my blog; that was fun.

May I suggest Ted Nugent and Henry Rollins as musicians?

  5. Why Lee? Good on defense, lousy on offense, and can’t win on the road. Sherman, for my money.

    • Of all the Civil War general officers, I think Lee was the better leader.

    • If it makes you feel any better, I facepalmed when I saw Col. Cooper on your writers list.

  8. You are all so macho . . . the only person you need in this situation is Buffy (and perhaps Anne Bonney.)

  9. I like your authors.

But for fictional characters, it would have to be Spenser, Hawk, and Vinnie Morris.

Thomas Jefferson? He’s definitely my favorite president for a battle of wits with zombies, but I don’t know about for actually duking it out.

  10. I immediately thought Audie Murphy…but you’ve got to find a place for John Wayne or Clint Eastwood.

  11. Seems proper that the only other nominator of Lazarus Long is also from Cleveland….

  12. Rock musician – How about Dr. Travis Taylor? He does list being a guitarist in a rock band in his bio.

And actors – come on guys, how about R. Lee Ermey? Adam Baldwin?

I don’t know about actors, I’ll have to review my Paxton Quigley VHS tapes.
