Quilt Show

Filed under: Links to Greatness — williamthecoroner @ 17:17

I was looking at the Lake Farmpark quilt show.  This is…different.  The prevailing culture of the show is not to push the artistic envelope, or to be novel.  It seems to be to make hand machine quilting look as much like machine quilting as possible.  I can understand these goals, these are the same sort of people that do intricate scale models.  Those folks have sphincter tone that is just way too high for my taste.

My favourite one was the Quilt of Quilts, showing multiple styles in one quilt, with an appliqued quilt show crowd at the bottom.  Sort of a meta quilt show.  Here it is, below the fold.

  1. Now that is different… I have some family quilts, and remember the women sitting around during reunions doing quilts.
