Hecate and Oleg on Self Defense

As a forensic pathologist, I run into people who are having very bad days.  One ME’s office has the motto “Our day starts when your day ends.”  Bad things happen, but how we respond to them is key.  Hecate has an essay that is worth reading. The key grafs:

We cannot always control what happens to us in life, but we are absolutely in full control of how we let it affect us.

And anyone who would take that away from me has a vested interest in preventing victims from evolving into independent survivors.

Oleg Volk expresses it in visual formselfdefense_8257v3

  1. I wish ALL women were allowed to carry, anytime, anywhere… just sayin…

  2. It is a more polite society when the female of the species packs heat, to borrow some words from Heinlein and Kipling. In those heels, however, she doesn’t possess much of a strategic withdrawal option.
