Shopping List

.22, .38, .357, .45, 12 ga ammunition

80 mile round trip yesterday.  Sorry that blogging’s light.

  1. What! No rifle ammo? Where’s the .223, .308, 30.06?

You need to adjust your diet.

  2. LOL- I’m tired… I missed the shopping trip and was trying to figure out howinthehell those items tied together! Molasses and Crisco had me going after I saw underwear…LOL

  3. Molasses and Crisco lost me altogether. How do they tie together, or is this some kind of inside “hunter’s humor”?

  4. what is the connection between those items???

Especially with the underwear. Dr. Z, I have a lot of respect for you, but don’t go mixing your tighty-whities with your ammunition. Things could explode–I’m not kidding.

  5. Kathy, I point you to this url:http://www.cabelas.com/prod-1/0059110628047a.shtml

Yeah, I’m out of 8mm x 57 Mauser ammo. Wally World locally didn’t carry it.

This is all the stuff that was written on the blackboard on my back door. I went all over creation finding this stuff.

NFO–Someone whose identity I shall not disclose said it sounded like preparations for one Hell of a weekend.

  7. Crisco and molassis could be ingredients in some cookies, like molassis crinkles. You have a large library of cookbooks… there must be something in them that requires those two things.

The ammo, only because you are out of those calibers. Variety is the spice of life. My brother has taken me target shooting (no, it is not my sport of choice, but I was willing to try). The range of weapons included a 357-magnum (dear bro made sure my stance was correct, it still knocked me back, but I did not break anything… nor hit anything near the target!), a 22 rifle, and a musket like handgun that he built from a kit. The latter required packing with powder, rags and a slug (though sometimes my brother substituted flowers, just because).

The underwear is because your current batch is wearing out. That happens. Elastic stretches out, and holes will happen. We all should have underwear that get tossed out every other week or so.

Prescriptions… we are all getting old. I’m am doing mine by mailorder now.

  8. Oh, rats… going on my grammar gaff… it is time I took my meds (it’s a statin!). Well, getting older beats the alternative.

  9. Well, the need for such a variety of ammo has been solved by the most recent post. Good to know you weren’t staging a coup, taking over the administration building, or whatever. Having been married for 20 years, I didn’t find the underwear or prescriptions all that intriguing — just the stuff of everyday life. But the Crisco and molasses, still puzzled. I want to guess biscuits?

  10. I’m glad this list wasn’t a quiz: “What three things do these items have in common?”

  11. I’m going to obsess over the molasses and Crisco all weekend. William the Coroner seems to have a mild sadistic streak. 🙂

  12. Mild???

I needed them. I was out. Used the last of the molasses making cookies, used the last of the Crisco making a pie.

And the meds seem to be working, considering my last lab tests, so…
